Here is an initial list of media links related to Gladstone’s 1-2 finish at the VEX Robotics World Championship. While this is a great story, it is important to remember that there were many other competitive teams from the region taking part in the competition. Congratulations are due to the World Finalists from team Exothermic, who also had other teams do very well in divisional play, Cambie Secondary, from Richmond, who went deep into their divisional playoff rounds, the defending World Champion team W.A.S.A.B.I., from Bellvue, who put in another strong performance, and team North Star, from David Thompson Secondary. Thank you to all the teachers, parents, volunteers and sponsors for helping make the BC/Washington area #1 in the world of VEX Robotics!
Edit: April 25th…
The media coverage expands… I woke up this morning to hear CBC Radio’s The Early Edition playing an interview at 6:20am (the interview is about 80% of the way through the podcast). The interview later went national on “As It Happens“.
The team was on Omni TV News this evening, too.
The Courier ran a small article, while 24hrs ran a nice photo, above, in the Wednesday, April 25 edition.
Edit: May 7th…
Media coverage continues… I found a nice article in the Victoria Times Colonist, with a link to some good video, but probably the best video of all is from Breakfast Television.
The team has also received great support from the MLA for their riding, Adrian Dix.
.
There is also archived video from the event but you need to forward to the six hour mark (pretty much 6:00:00 exactly) to see the finals. It is a best
of three… with some awards between match one and two. The second match is somewhere around the 6:20:00 mark.
